The pandemic has flipped historically desirable and reliably strong commercial rental yields into unpaid for, unoccupied liabilities.

How to fill empty office space?

Landlords must think creatively about their space and ways it can be used. Here are some ideas for what your empty office space could be great for…

Coworking space - the most common solution, as little preparation needed to convert into a flexible workspace due to the existing space already having the required ingredients for coworking.

gym and studio spaces

How does Doordeck Flexi Workspace work?

Once access is granted by the building admin to the user that’s booked the space,  keyless entry is able to be used to enter the building.

The digital key invitation to the building is emailed to the user where they can see the time period they have access to the space for. By either scanning the QR code with their smartphone's camera or using NFC technology with the app, keyless entry to the building is granted.

Testimonials

“I ended up with a large amount of empty office space that I didn't know what to do with following the pandemic WFH guidance. Doordeck was the perfect solution to sub let the space for coworking. This enabled me to turn desks into hot desks enabling flexible working for coworking and existing employees that wanted to return to the office.”

Luc, MD at Liberty Resourcing Ltd.
“Doordeck is exactly what I need. I required a room to perform consultations with clients and found an existing office that would be ideal. I pay for the room only when I need it, I turn up and tap to unlock. I can even unlock with one tap on my Apple Watch. It’s simple and easy”.

Charlotte, CEO and Founder at The Health Nutritionist
“I required a place to work from and host client meetings in downtown Lisbon. I book and pay for the meeting room a few times a week. To enter the meeting room I use NFC on my iPhone and touch the phone against the tile that has an NFC chip built-in to unlock the door. The Doordeck app is  easy and quick to use. Works just how I need it too.”

Léo, Creative Art Director at LB Dsgns.
“After WFH for sometime I got tired of the lack of space, distractions and no separation between work and home. I wanted some flexible workspace every now and then but didn’t want to pay WeWork prices. My friend recommended Doordeck Flexi Workspace to be able to hot desk at the same place she does. It’s simple to book and pay for the space as and when I need it. All I need is my smartphone to unlock the office door for the time I’ve paid for”

Elise, CRO Specialist at Swift Monkey
“Being a multi-tenant landlord for a few office buildings there are times where space isn’t being used fully. The flexi workspace feature made it easy to fill up the empty space I had when tenants couldn’t come up with internal uses for it. It’s been easy to attract new flexible workspace tenants thanks to Doordeck’s flexi workspace platform.”
