What happens if the network goes down?

Doordeck relies on an Internet connection to operate, if the Internet connection fails, Doordeck will stop responding.

Doordeck recommends a redundant Internet connection where feasible, ideally using a separate connectivity option such as 4G LTE to provide a failover connection.

If Internet outages are a regular problem, an inline key switch can be used to override Doordeck - this is mounted on the insecure side of the door and uses a physical key to disable the access control.

Doordeck is working on offline operation.
